Default SES light flashing...help!

hey guys...fired up my 03 disco this morning for the first time in a little over a week, as soon as i turned her on the "service engine soon" light blinked about 8-10 times then stopped blinking and the light remained on. the vehicle has 101,000 miles on it. i did nothing more than keep the disco in idle at which point everything felt and sounded normal. at this point i dont have codes (im afraid to drive it.) what are your guys' opinions?

i think blinking SES is a serious code..go rent/borrow a scanner and pull the codes and get back to us.

UPDATE: just wanted to add that i have restarted the disco a few times now and the light is just turning on and staying on at this point. The only time it flashed/blinked about 8-10 times was the very first time the light came on.

So, go get your codes read and get back to us with the 4 digit fault code numbers. By the way, do it today cause the flashing light will probably come back and that is when the $$$$$ signs start growing.
