Default Sheared bolts

Last week both bolts for the Terrafirma front diff cover for my 2003 D2 sheered off while off roading.

Any suggestion on how to remove the bolts.

Right now I'm thinking this is a good excuse to buy one of those $80 welders from Amazon and try to weld a bolt onto bolt shaft.

Any other ideas or tips when welding on a bolt.

You can drill out the center of the bolts and then use an extractor. I had to do the same on a few D1/D2's where the balancer plate was ripped off while they were off roading.

Dremel a slot in the bolt and unscrew.

Welding bolts/nuts etc onto sheared stubs usually doesn’t go as well as you’d hope. Maybe that’s just my shoddy welding.

I’ve had limited success with the extractors.

I have most success by drilling out whatever is left, until you can get a tap in and rethread a new hole.
