Default shift linkage.

Any advice on what good cleaner to use in cleaning a shift linkage for the transfer case of 97 disco =?

If all you want to do is crawl under the truck and clean the linkage then use carb cleaner.

Well, no reply.
If you haven's done anything get, go power scrub the linkage on the drivers side, if that doesn't free it up, then plan on removing the console and going thru the floor.
Whatever you do, do not force the linkage or you will bend/break it.

sorry about for the long reply. Internet was out for a couple of days.
I haven't taking it out. I'll try do power scrub it underneath. If that doesn't work. I'll try open up the console. Any words of preacautions. I should be aware of in doing this?

Yeah, don't spray carb cleaner on it. It will eat away the rubber dust sheild and any seals on the top side if it pools up. Use some WD-40 or similar penetrating oil carefully on the linkage. Don't just shoot it everywhere.

The center console is a little tricky. Take your time and you will be fine.
