Default Shifter loose - Just realised i may have asked the wrong question before

Before I asked if i had to remove the whoel console to get at the shifter bolt. Got an answer that may be for a differant question.

the shift lever itself is not loose, it is loose when shifting between gears (exception of park) I have to kind of go back and forth till it seats in... how can i tighten this. Everyone before said there is a bolt underneath it. but when i remove the trim piece around the edge there is the otehr black piece(which has the P-R-N-D-3-2-1) on it. this doesnt seem to just POP off. It is really starting to annoy me and i would love to tighten it back up.

Can I maybe get an idiots guidence on this one..... Cause I sure feel like one.

remove the shifter **** (pull up real hard), remove the shifter cover(prnd321) unplug the harness for the lights

you probly need a new shifter handle , the spring inside might be weak... the shifter assembly is a aluminum track that the shifter follows inside, i bet you just need the shifter handle

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LAND-...item25598e1a31

this is way too much.. i can get this for 25$ all day

It's a DI, in the rave manual, in electrical - repair - shift indicater lite, or something like that, it describes how to easily remove the parts you refer to.

below in my sig is a download to the rave manual.

can i adjust this at the selector arm on the transmission bell end of the cable? or is my issue most likely related to the mysterious bolt i have been seeking for so long
