Should I be worried about high miles when looking for a discovery?

Should I be worried about high miles when looking for a discovery?
I am searching for a winter SUV that will only be driven about 4-6k miles a year. I only want to spend between 2-4k. I pretty much have my heart set on a 94-99 discovery. I am considering bidding on this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-...=p4506.c0.m245but just curious... should the high miles scare me away? Any expensive fixes that all discoverys eventually need? Basically when looking at these what should I be looking for? Thanks for your help in advance!

The 94-99 are D1's, what is for sale is a '99 D2 and a whole different beast. I would want a lot more info on a truck with that many miles on it, especially through an eBay auction. The pic of the odometer isn't showing any lights that might be on the dash. Is that truck in your area? It would be very wise to look at trucks you can actually drive and inspect before jumping on a cheap one through eBay.

Dont let the miles scare you. They dont show the dash only the odometer so the check engine light is probally on as well as the "three amigos", (tractioncontrol, hill decent and ABS lights)
90% of check engine lights being on on Discoveries is because they are in a bad need for a tune up. The three amigos is another story. Could be brake dust in the ABS sensors which you can fix yourself all the way upto a bad ABS modulator.
You MUST use premium gas.
If you could get the truck for $2000 go for it, but I wouldnt pay any more than that. You can expect to put another $1500 into a used Discovery to get it up to par. That is any used Disco.
DI's are more DIY friendly, DII's have a nicer ride and better interior.
DI's are from 1994-1999.5, DII's are from 1999.5 to 2004.
Good luck in your search, and more questions just ask, and never sign the paperwork until you drive one. Drive a couple of local ones before you make a trip.
And buyer beware with e-bay motors, people on here have gotten screwed big time because the seller removed the light bulbs to the warning lights and did not tell the buyer.
