You'll want to be sure to get the genuine grey 180 degree thermostat.

Lucky8 has the best price at around $70.00

Beware of imposter stats.

Hi all

no real updates. Q&E engineering have my block and they are waiting on liners to arrive. The plan is for them to tig where the screw was also.

then I'll go collect block rebuild in my garage and install. Can anybody be recommend how far I build the engine up on the engine star and at what point a hoist it back into the car? Should I go as far as plenum and intake manifold outside then hoist in the whole donk? I'm just by myself so trying to hoist in a built engine may be a bit hard.

id really appreciate your pointers as I do the rebuild. I pretty excited and also nervous I'll stuff something up.

best way is to build it to the "long block" stage. So everything assembled except for the valve covers, accessories (all the belt driven components with the exception of the water pump), intake, and exhaust manifolds.

borrow or buy a good set of micrometers, a bore gauge, and some "plastigauge" and check EVERYTHING. do not install a single component until you have confirmed that it is in spec, new or used. this step is partially what engine builders get paid big money to perform and you will be very upset if you go through the process of installation only to suffer excessive wear or even component failure very soon afterword.

I've used a few Britpart 180F thermostats with no issues. Totally without a doubt stay away from MOTORAD stuff. Complete garbage right out of the box.

I've also used 180F Grey OEM units.
