Default Shuttle Valve Switch Replacement Tips

The shuttle valve is kind of a bitch to get to. I attempted Option B but the valve itself was just too far gone. Had to swap in a fresh one (eBay, $58).

First off, access is a total pain and 4mm hex key was just a pain. I'm a tool horse so I got one of the Wiha 71988 mini ratchets ($88). This thing is super handy. Doesn't come with the 4mm hex so I had to get the little 1/4" bit set, Wiha 71397 ($5). Wiha is a pricey but they're life savers for such a tight area.

Otherwise, install was pretty straight forward. Like everyone else mentions, unclip the lines and you can get enough room to access underneath the unit. I used a custom made tool to prop the unit up:

Just a tremendously pro, twin 3/4" strips of plywood. Make sure you take the power steering fluid reservoir off the post, otherwise you might crack it.

Installed and the lights were gone.

You replaced the shuttle valves? Or did you replace the shuttle valve switches?

Sorry, shuttle valve switches... could a mod change the title?
