Hello everyone,
I posted this question in the tires section but I guess No One looks at it. My question is, what tire size would everyone recommend for a 16x7 (if I can find some) or 16x8 steel rim. I want to get some new skinny tires for overlanding ect.
I run a Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx 245/75/16 on mine fits good. My usage is the same overlanding, mostly 4 to 7 days running mostly forest service roads a couple of times a year.
If you want skinnies, 235/85 is probably the best bet. They're common, cheap and they're 31.7" tall. I would have gone that size if I could have found 16" wheels for cheap enough.
Not really. You may or may not scrub a little depending on suspension Sion sag among other variables, but you'll be fine. I ran 265/65r18s at stock height for a while, as have many others, with no rubbing at all.
