Default SLAB or diff lock sensors?

I have the blinking green dash lights and flashing D on the shifter. I know it isn't from a low battery. I found that if I exercised the transfer case lever it would not indicate that the transfer case was out of gear or that the diff was locked. With enough shifting the lights would start working and the flashing green lights would go away the next time I started it. Now I can't get the transfer case light to work at all. Is there a way to test whether it is the sensors in the transfer case or if there is problem with the SLAB?

I am chasing some other electric gremlins such as random misfires when I run through a puddle and the 3 bells sounding at random times with I use the brakes. I wondering if there is a common cause.

Battery connections good at both ends of the cables? That could explain most of it. XYZ switch could also be playing a part, and bad diff sensors are pretty common. Throw your misfires and chimes when braking in there and it seems like maybe one thing could explain them all?? Plus, they're mostly unrelated.

As far as testing the diff switches, there is a connector under the armrest/console bin where you can test switch output. You have to remove the center console to get at it, but that's likely easier than trying to test the switches themselves. You'll need a copy of the ETM and the Electrical Library to determine the pinout but I can help you with the connector itself.

Edit: Actually, you may be able to get at it by removing the window switch plate.

Or you can trace the wires back to the slabs and test the switches when you move the shifter. Pretty common for the switches to randomly sound the bells.

Thanks guys that gives me a start. I have had the XYZ switch problems before with a failing battery. Now that things have dried out after that hurricane it seems to be working alright which will make troubleshooting it a little more difficult.
