Default Sleeping platform details

I bought this D2 in early summer. I replaced the front drive shaft immediately with the Lucky 8 drive shaft. The rest of the car is in good condition as far as I know, so I went ahead building the sleeper system in the trunk. Rear seats are removed “permanently” (can be put back in but they’re too darn heavy so it’ll likely never happen &#128514. This affords us about 5’ 10” x 3’ 4” of sleeping space with ~35” of head room. (Plenty, my gf and I can sit-up in it, were only 5’ 6”) and it has enough storage to fit all of our camping gear in the drawers. (Drawer dims x2 ~32x18x7, then removable chests in front of those where the seats go have dims of about 2x 22x18x7) Platform is made of 3/4” plywood and the verticals are also 3/4” plywood. All cut by hand with a jigsaw so don’t judge me. Made some window shades out of reflectix and blackout window curtain. It’s yet to be seen if those actually work. I don’t have any sliders on the drawers and they work just fine. The window bolt keeps them shut when the car is moving. Added 1/4” wood to the rear door and a hanged cooking platform for the Coleman stove. Used self tapping screws and paracord for the connections. Both side storage units are empty and I was able to relocate the stock bin on the rear door to accommodate the hinges. My girlfriend and I are planning a trip up the PCH over thanksgiving, I’d love to get some light off-roading in (never gone before) and if you have any recommendations for our trip please let me know! Heading north from LA

Seatback molle panel. $20 on amazon and extremely useful, I will definitely pick one up for the other side.

Long items(chairs, canopy, tent if needed.) go in cubby where passengers legs usually go

Mostly tools in the removable storage chests. Platform hinges to uncover

Used magnets, reflectix and blackout curtains to make window shades.

Fold down stove shelf with the stock bin relocated

Window bolts keep drawer closed. The middle black bolt is just a 1/4” screw with electrical tape on it to keep positive pressure on the rear door when closed.
