Well what do you know, Walmart does have filters.

Ok, so I got the filter and attempted to remove the old one.... It's now dark and I gave up for the night. I did spray some PB Blaster on the fittings in hope it will do some good. Any tricks to getting the old one off?

Suede,

So my pass side O2 and Cat are toast? How will that effect engine operation?

Not necessarily. Wait for Disco Mike to chime in. You might have wire arching, or even a vacuum leak, causing the misfires. He's more familiar with the the multitude of things that can throw codes, so wait for his input...

First thing you need to do is to make sure you clear all you codes as of today and then read them again after a day of driving, then get back to us. As for the fuel filter put that on the back burner and focus on the codes.

I can barely get it to move out of the driveway...I don't think driving it today is going to happen.

New NGK plugs gapped to .035 and new kingsborne wires.

Aside from the the ping issue which I thought was clearing up, it ran fine for the two weeks after I installed the plugs & wires.

I don't have a fuel pressure guage but I do have fuel at the rail and it sprayed out over the fender....

I don't know, I'm ready to burn it. I have to go to work at noon today (taking the Wifes car) so I won't be able to work on it again until tonight...

When you get home, get underneath and tap on both cats. Let us know if you hear a rattle, a thud, or if it sounds hollow. I've a good feeling you've got a clogged cat on the passenger side. The backpressure would produce the codes, and symptoms, you've shared (especially all on the same exhaust bank).

I limped it up to my buddies shop yesterday so it's not here for me to check today. I did tap the cats a couple weeks ago trying to diagnose my ping/rattle issue. It sounded solid but I suppose that could have changed. I'll post a update when he calls...

Thanks for the replies!

Check for bad fuel. I deal with Bulk fuel storage for a living and have been running all over the country evaluating and repairing phase separated ethanol fuels. once the ethanol separates from the fuel - bad O2's, damanged cats, misfires and lean codes result. check for poor fuel. i have seen fleets with many trucks and cars go down over night from this problem. It can be hard to diagnose.

rcg, I normally buy fuel at Sunoco...the Official fuel of NASCAR....but I have been thinking about trying Exxon.

What companies (if you can say) have had problems with fuel?

Whew Boy, sounds like a load of fun for you. Could the o2 sensor be a bad wire or is it most likely the sensor, how would you check the sensor if possible?

As far as the fuel, I put Shell 93 Octane in mine and some Lucas Complete Fuel treatment in mine. I had taken it in for StateEmissions and Inspection, the mechanic hooked up the emissions tester and told me to go drive it for 50 to 100 miles and come back. It had sit for a long time with me working on it, and I had only driven it a little. I have never had any check engine light or other engine related issues. So I cruised around for a few hours, it ran like a champ. fires right up. good power and acceleration, nice throaty sound on accelerating. smooth all around.
