Small Block Chevy Engine Swap for 2000 Disc II
Just keep in mind what everything from the engine back is designed to handle. One reason Rovers (Series, Defenders, etc) last so long is their low power engines. Lots of horsepower off road usually leads to broken parts unless you have a feather throttle foot.

Why would you want to do that to your truck? The 4.0 is a great low end torque motor
and just what is needed for off road use. Don't ruin your rover man.

The Rover V8 lasted over 40 years and worked well for the rest of the world. The American driving mentality is stuck in a high school parking lot. Sure, more power is nice to have, but do I really need to do 100+ mph or accelerate faster than everyone else? Rovers are built for off road and expeditions, not the urban race track.

I love my engine. I did some research and found out my 4.6 has nearly the same amount of both HP and lbs as a bronco 5.7L 350ci..
they have like 10 more torque and the same hp.
rover engines are pretty powerful but the best part is that can take a beating.
I highly doubt the new 350ci engines in the tundras/fords ect can handle being dunked in water every weekend and handle mud all over the engine while bouncing around in the middle of the woods. I doubt they will last. too many gismos in the newer engines.
