Default smell

I was having same thing. Hopefully I fixed it just replaced h2o pump, had been leaking drops forever but could never find it. Then slowly started hearing rattling noise and looked and saw distinct wobble of cooling fan where attaches to pump pulley. Check it out let me know. Good luck

Mine has been weeping out the front of the driver's side head for 2 years and almost 20k miles. I just check the coolant frequently and keep driving. Barrs leaks tablets stop the leak entirely, but require a yearly refresh. At this point, I'm probly just going to drive til it fails just to see how long it lasts.

mine was leaking out the back of the motor, turned out to be that the PO put the intake manifold on but hand tightened the bolts.

I was in to get a key programmed, and the mechanic states my radiator has a leak. I haven't gotten to crawl around and find it, but I'll update when I do.

The reservoir is a little low, but doesn't seem to be draining too fast.
Just wondering if there are some usual suspects to check out?
Do local car stores rent a pressure tester that fits these things?
After running the Rover, I can smell the very distinct odor of coolant outside the truck near the driver side engine compartment, with the hood closed. I checked coolant levels and it appears normal, the temp is fine, and I just drove it from Maryland to Orlando, FL and back with no overheating issues. There doesn't appear to be any leaks at all. Now, it has been a very hot summer here in Maryland, and I'm sure the A/C is working overtime, but for the life of me, I can't figure out where this coolant smell is coming from. Any ideas? 2007 Supercharged.

this thread is for 1999-2004 DIscoverys. you might try over on the Ranger Rover forums. I'm assuming you have a Ranger Rover because I don't know of any supercharged 2007 LR3s.

Best way to find is the pressure tester on the cooling system, often can hear the leak even if you cannot see it.
