Default Smelly A/C

My 04 D2 has an unusual condition. When I first turn on the A/C, which is rare it puts out air that smells like a nasty diaper left to bake in a sealed up car for five days( those of you who have had kids know what I am talking about). It goes away, within 5 minutes, but the smell could make a buzzard puke. Anybody else ever dealt with this? Can't be old diaper, cause i did not have this when my kids were in diapers.

You have mold building up in the are where water collect. It should if both of your drain are working.
You need to make sure both drain are open, then you a strong spray to pump into the in-coming air intakes under the dash. The auto parts store should have some or use a lcan of Lysol spray yo kill the mold.m

My pals in the AC service business for hotels have these "pan pills" which they leave in the evaporator pans so the funky smell does not bother the guests. Somebody should sell those for vehicles as well. The pills have a chemical that is a mildewcide.

When you poke the drain nipples with a stick be sure to be away from them as yukky water can pour out.

They go thru thru floor near the the firewall and drain down both sides of the tranny. Best to take a look with flash light in hand, I always recommend people squeeze/roll the black rubber nipple between their fingers instead od a wire or stick which can tear the end of that rubber drain type.

Pretty sure this is happening to me as well..

Over the past few days, I've had a faint skunk smell come around. Either it's the truck, or we have a lot of dead skunks in various parts of the city.

Either way. My A/C was working wonderfully up until last Friday. As of Saturday morning the blower will not kick on at any setting. -- Which is wonderful since it's 90degrees out.

Found them! 30 min job. Easy. Disgusting smell out of the Passenger side. DS the little nipple was mostly gone I assume that is a check valve to keep the line from "inhaling" water when in a water crossing situation .
Unclogged with a piece of #12 copper wire. Now it leaks where is supposed to.
Does anyone know if the check valves are available anywhere. I wonder if I could get a salvaged one? Is it really necessary ?
Didn't know a rover had nipples
