My 2004 Disco smells when hot similar to when a vehicle is overheating and steamy. it has 81k on the clock with a full service history. Does this mean the head is on the way out?
If so can I re torque it before it goes or replace the gasket?
It goes fine apart from the three amiego's.

Explain the smell and where from? Exhaust? Under hood? It is the sweet smell of burning/leaking coolant or more of oil burning? Also, is your coolant tank low or do you have to add coolant/oil ever?

 

Check your throttle body heater plate. Common place to leak and sometimes hard to see---> Underneath the driver's side of the Intake Manifold
