Default ****** rope choices

The good news is that my older son is enjoying having Redrover at the beach. There really isn't any bad news related to that, but i'm interested in getting him an appropriately-sized ****** rope for him to be able to recover others and be recovered, as necessary, from the beach sand.

I've read and looked, and looked and read, and I am leaning toward a kinetic rope that is 7/8 of an inch in diameter and 20 feet long.

Given what I've read that size and length should be reasonably appropriate.

When I was with him Saturday my son and I recovered an army enlisted man with his big, 4-wheel drive pickup truck . He had managed to get stuck on the beach. We used the ****** block and a double line pull to get him out, after using our shovel to clear a path.

For whatever remaining months our son has the Rover at the beach he is most likely to encounter straight-line pulls for which a kinetic rope would be the most appropriate tool. I'll appreciate your thoughtful responses about just what size kinetic rope to get. Thanks.

I think going kinetic is the only way to recover when it's a tug type use. 7/8x20 is perfect for him to have if he is going to be recovering himself and others as you don't know the exact weight of the other vehicle being recovered.

I recommend the bubba rope, I have 2 on my rig, the 7/8s and the 3/4. The breaking strength also has a lot to do with how the kinetic ability works. Since you have such a high load rope, 28,500 lbs. (bubba) it requires more force to stretch and give that kinetic help your looking for. Don't get me wrong it's going to work like a champ and way better than a tow strap but the 3/4 in a typical situation for our rigs coming in at 19,000 lbs (again bubba brand) will stretch a lot more and help make the recovery a lot easier and smoother for both vehicles.

There are a bunch of great kinetic ropes out there. Bubba is probably the most prolific, I have always used the one we sell with good luck. KINETIC RECOVERY ROPE 24mm DIAx8M RATED, KRR001 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts

Get the 30', its not as long as you think. It gives more length for the pull vehicle to be on good ground, and also gets some more separation between the two.
