Default Snow tires on steel wheels

Mission: Steel wheels with snow tires for the winter months.

I know – I am cerain this has been beaten to death however the data I have is off a bit.
-Manual lists tire sizes with alloy wheels (see attached)
-Door frame lists differing tire sizes (attached)
-Current situation: 18" alloys with 255/55 R18

After examining tire sizes online, I think I have narrowed the search to:
AB Wheels 16x7 (with lugs and caps)
Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1: 225/75 R16
What do you think about these tires on a stock DII? I want slightly narrower and basically the same overall height, since the height will be a bit different, I am going just a hair higher in overall diameter (0.2 inch).

Thoughts?

What are your goals for winter? Have you found your existing wheels and tires to under perform in winter. I am a big blizzak fan for all my cars, but have never felt a LR would need them. Let us know what you choose. I might reconsider

I've been eying a set of steel wheels as well, but I'm just going to use my alloys and then get some terrafirma RVS wheels with new tires in spring. For winter I love the blizzaks, but the studded general altimax arctics I had were way better. This year I'm trying out Hankook winter I-pikes studded. Btw the rovers north steel wheels are the least expensive around Rovers North, Classic Land Rover Parts - VENTED 16X8" WHEEL DISCOVERY II SATIN BLACK, RNA5004

I have my general grabbers on that I use all the time since the PO bought a 5 set and put them on less than 100 miles before selling it to me. I'm going to try them out this winter else I'd be getting nokian hakablahblah winter tires. Had them on my previous vehicle and they were amazing in every way though tend to be more expensive.

Goals for winter - not worry about a thing (within reasonable limits).
I live in the country and have a long driveway. I do not plow (only if you count driving up and down the driveway so the Wife's Mini can navigate).
It is always windy here and if we get a good snow, there will be drifting.
A couple years ago it was quite significant (extreme situation). High centered my old Freelander, however the D90 didn't even hesitate. Both Freelander and D90 are now gone (both missed in their own way)... Anyway, back to the mission...
Want not to worry about the driveway situation nor getting to work (small business, I must get there). No interest in lifting, close tolerances, tires that howl on the highway; just a set of wheels/tires that will get swapped on for the winter and do a good all-a-round job.

Why do you want steel wheels in particular? A set of used 16" alloys would likely be cheaper than a new set of steel, if you shop around.
