Default So I need a new master cylinder...

Does anyone favor one maker from another, I'm seeing TRW and OEM? If it's all the same and I can save a few dollars, I will go with the TRW.

I believe the braking system on a D2, 1999-2002 was Lucas, which became TRW, which is the brand on the 2003-2004.

So I think the TRW is OEM, though not always genuine in a land rover box.

Does that mean I can use the one for 2003-2004 or only up to 2002 (which I have)? If TRW is Lucas which is OEM, I will see if rovers north, bputah or British pacific can beat the $170 I found on eBay.

Last I checked, 2003-2004 and 1999-2002 were different, but I THINK they can be used interchangeably. The 2003-2004 style is supposed to provide better braking, when coupled with the newer front calipers.

Check rovah farm for prices too. He carries lots of TRW boxed parts. I don't see a D2 master, but a phone call might be more up to date.

As far as someone matching the prices, I cannot say. If it's in a land rover box, probably not because there are already two steps since it left the manufacturer. Might not be a lot of wiggle room. Never hurts to ask.

I called Rovahfarm and spoke with Trevor, he doesn't have the part in stock, but has indicated I can run either SJC100432 (99-02) or SJC000110 (03-04) without issue as the later replaced the 1st gen design/ part. Found both parts on eBay, 99% feedback and under $175 each shipped, new in box TRW branded.

I've never dealt with them, but:

@ SuperSport, thats a cheap price, I didn't even see them wehn I did my search. I paid $170.77 shipped for the TRW SJC100432 part. They responded within minutes of my questions and made me feel at ease with 99% feedback.
