I was going to suggest using a come-a-long to free the two halves. Nice work.

If you follow this procedure it takes about 10 minutes to get the bushing out and the new bushing falls right in: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...77/#post796215

Hi Disco, looking at this, does the grease work on hydraulics and push the bearing out when you smack the bolt? And where does the #3 rubber plug go? Thanks!

Yes, same as the mythical bread method.

I feel dumb for not remembering this as an option, but definitely works like a charm.

The rubber plug is required to seal the hole completely. Otherwise grease comes out through the hole and the hydraulic pressure is not big enough to push the bushing out.

I watched a video the other week of the bread method working. Not sure what senerio has to unfold that there is more bread than grease available but good to know.
