My 2003 Disco SEis about to drive me crazy again. When I stress the rear suspension it squeaks and creeks like a goose. I know this can be several different things but I was hoping someone might have some suggestions on what to try first. Ithas 57k miles on it so I am out of warranty and will have to endure the cost myself, so I would like to get it right on the first go round.

Also, while I am at it, the cruise control surges. Any ideas?

Being a D2, your bushings should be fine. I would suggest you crawl under the truck with a few wrenches and a socket set and start tightening up all the bolts and nuts. Check all the suspension, shocks, sway bars, trailing arms all of it. You might have a coil spring that has rotated in it's holder which could also make that noise.
