Default Speedometer Cluster Illumination

Evening Folks ,

2003 D2

After spending the whole day driving , I went to park the Disco up for the night & realised the Speedometer Cluster had no lights and no lights around the heater switches total darkness. Now the Speedo was working but no light.

Can anyone shed any light on what may be the issue . I was told to check Fuse 13 under the bonnet & Fuses 11 & 33 and they did not seem blown.

Presumably you checked that the dash dimmer control isn’t turned to the dimmest setting?

I’m not with my D2 now but IIRC it’s left of the steering wheel (on a LHD), I think a black rotating disc

yes. Left of steering wheel. It’s a knurled plastic wheel

Forgot to mention. I’ve had this issue and I gently tapped my key forward and the lights came on. So it was a loose connection in the ignition switch

Tried that with no luck either. Does this have a relay or a fuse in the engine compartment ? Just not enough information available

Maybe all the bulbs are blown? The stock radio button lights are dimmed too, but it uses LEDs which last forever. Can you dim them?
