Default Spring spacers/shocks

I've got a 2004 disco 2 that was given to me without knowing any prior history of it. I've got what appears to be 2" spacers in the front and rear. I just bought new shocks (terrafirma) and dont want to blow the new ones because the old ones were pretty bad. I'm assuming because of the spacers and the fact that they were probably the 16yo factory shocks. The front end seems like it will work fine with new shocks since the shocks mount the at the same height as the original stock suspension. The rear shock only had about 3 inches of down travel, when I took the old shock off it bleed out and traveled about 2 inches straight down from the mount on the axle. Factoring in geometry I'm guessing about 3 inches of travel MAX before the shock was fully extended and I know for the short time I've had the rover that it's been maxed out a few times just by me.

So my question is where do I go from here? I'm not taking the spacers off since my tires wont fit and I'm used to the stance now so I'm not lowering it, you can belittle me all you want about how bad spacers are but I'm not changing my mind. I'm looking for answers not arguments. Eventually I will fully upgrade my suspension/steering/undercarriage to take a beating. I can fabricate mounts to close the extra distance if that will work, or if anyone knows of some low profile weld-on axle mounts on the market or how to fab some up, or is there a completely different method of relocating the shock somewhere else that improves upon the stock design? I could order different length shocks but I got the ones I got for a good deal so I'm kinda partial to them. I like the idea of a low profile axle mount but haven't seen any done, and it seems like i will actually lose travel if even I raised to be inline with the bottomed of the tube of the axle. Does anyone have a low pro setup that works good? Thanks in advanced

There is nothing bad about the pucks/spacers that sit under a coil. For the front you can get shock towers which are shorter. I remember seeing some adapters for the rear, but I think those were for D1's vs D2's. Honestly your best bet would be to just get longer shocks. I'd personally list your shocks on the For Sale/Trade section/CL, or Facebook Marketplace, and then get the correct shocks.
