Default stake nut on front passenger side

Hi all,

Got my new hub today, got everything off except axle/stake nut. Pounded out peened spot on nut and tried to loosen. Have tried air impact, electric impact, and 3/4" drive with cheater bar. I am actually spinning front drivers wheel trying to loosen that nut. Is this normal amount of torque? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. At first I thought were left hand threads, but can find no mention in manual or from AB?

Thanks,
rmcc

Oh...you may want to put the wheel back on the side you are working on and take the center cap off with the truck on the ground.
This way the wheel will not spin

This is what I always do.

Yes, that's a normal amount of torque. I've broken a couple breaker bars trying to get them off.

Thanks for that tip!! Worked like a charm!! Now problem is, I cannot get the hub to budge. Broke link on gear puller and still no movement. Sprayed PB and LW on splines and around edges. Put other gear puller on and left it under tension. Will leave over night. I can see a LOT of rust on splines.

Don't even bother with the puller. Take a hammer and give The axle a few taps to tap it loose from the hub. It should slide in about 1/4". Then start hammering on the back of the hub flange top, bottom, side, side. Eventually it will slide out.

This question comes up a lot. I'll make a video next time I remove one.

Those nuts are tightened to ~350lbs-ft. I had to jump on a 4' bar to get mine off. LR tech told me to swing for the fences to get the hub out, he said the new one will slide in easier. Told me to use the bolts to pull the hub into its seat

Normally once the hub breaks free from the axle I use a rubber mallet to tap the axle shaft back into place vs it pulling out with the hub.
