Stalling at Idle...
It first happened maybe 1 or 2 weeks ago. And is now happening on every drive. It starts up fine and drives perfect but as soon as I idle it will stall out. From reading the forum it looks like cleaning the MAF, Idle Control and T/Body would be the first place to start on trying to fix this... any other suggestions? Also could anyone give me a step by step on how to clean these 3 things? Thanks!

Let me save you some time reading through these threads. My 98 Disco was running rough for a while. I had the same type of problems (rough idle, stalling, etc.) with my Rover, and in fact just got it back from the garage this morning. From all the research I did, I found these to be the most common reported problems:
1. Bad MAF
2. Bad Coolant Temp Sensor
3.Bad O2 Sensor(s)
4. Plugged Injectors
After spending the $200 dollars on the carbon deposit removal (motorvac process) and not seeing any difference I would not recommend trying that first.
I have also read that you shouldn't attempt to clean your MAF because of thesensitivematerials within the unit. Have your local garage test it with your engine running to see if it is reading properly. These are very expensive to replace ($500-$600) and you will want to make sure that is the cause of the problem. If the your MAF is reading low, have them smoke test your engine first before your order a replacement MAF. It turns out the coating used on the intake manifold gaskets chips off over time which causes your engine to pull air directly in and bypass the MAF. Your MAF will then tell your engines computer the air entering is low and your air/fuel ratio will be adjusted. If your Disco sounds like it's running rich or lean then this is a good indicator along with the stalling and rough starting. If your Rover leaks oil (and I am sure it does) this is most likely where the majority of the leak is comming from also.After spending $550 on a new intake manifold gasket, valley pan gasket, valve cover gaskets and labor the oil leak is gone along with the rough idle and stalling.
If it turns out you indeed need anew MAF, let me know as I now have an extra used one on hand.

Do not clean the MAF, yes do the SeaFoam, but with a DI when it will not idle but it runs fine as long as you have your foot on the gas pedal keeping the RPM above 550...then it isa bad stepper motor, also know as the idle air control.

I also noticed people saying K&N air filters will ruin your MAF. About 5k ago i replaced my air filter with this... http://www.drivewire.com/products/la...ir-filter/276/ the FULL Filter one at the top. Could this be contributing to the problem?
