starter replacement...
i am hoping that the starter is not too difficult to swap out... it is not a job i have done before.
also; they seem to be going for $200-$300 on AB/Rovers North but i found one on eBay for $100 that looks the same...
does it make sense that the same starter would fit all those vehicles?

All those vehicles listed in the add use the 4.0L or 4.6L engines so it does make sense that it fits all those vehicles. The starter is specific to the engine, not the vehicle, if that makes sense. I would stay away from buying something like that on Ebay. Remember that you get what you pay for. Spend more now or spend money and time later replacing the starter that seemed like such a good deal at the time.
yeah... i have had good experience with used parts, so we'll see. i put a $30 fan/clutch in a few months ago and it's still going strong. i think it was $300 something on AB.
same with those starters haha
same with those starters haha
The 3.9, 4.0 and 4.6 are the EXACT same engine on the outside, just different internals.
They each have a slightly longer stroke than the previous engine, that is how they get the bigger displacement.
So yes, one starter fits all.

there are several brand options apparently...
NSA, Bosch, and "Hi-Test" the last one being the cheapest...
has anyone had any experience with these? which is best?
