Starts with one key, won't start with other key
It might be set to not disarm the alarm with the key, if enabled with the fob. There are lots of settings in the computer for such things. I'd buy a nanocom from black box solutions. You can turn of passive immobilization and other settings. You can even program a used remote from eBay.
Thanks for all the info, but I think I'm screwed. I put the bad key in the ignition and held the good key close. It worked fine and started the car. I removed the the good key and started the car several times with the bad key until the 5 minute time expired. I liked the idea of leaving the circuit board in the car next to the ignition slot but every time I open the door the alarm will go off until I start the car. I down loaded the manuals and the motor ECU gets a code from the engine imobilizer that allows the engine ECU to start the motor. If it does not get the correct code it will lock the car from running and then it must be reset by the dealer--5 hours away. Guess they have got me for another key,,,, hate to think of driving to SAn Jose more than paying the $$ for they key. Thanks again.
