The bump is still being felt with the drag link disconnected...so it HAS to be steering box then....correct?
You can still disconnect the steering shaft from the input of the box. With both input and output disconnected if you still feel the clunk then you have definite proof. And, you’ve done the work to R&R the box. Win win.

just took it out for a run...steering is a bit too tight for my liking. Don't like the heaviness introduced. I'll live with the bump at 12:00 for now..

saving my $$ for a new steering box I guess....

Default Steering box

I have a steering box you can have if you want. It is a slight leak, but works fine. The seal kit is cheap of you want to fix it.

that is very kind of you! I wonder what the shipping charge would be on it to 33778?

I have a new OEM upper radiator hose and 2 thermostats I could swap it for? grey and cream colored ones.

It looks like fedex ground is ~$70. open to any suggestions. I put in a weight of 40lbs, probably about right?

do you know where/how bad the leaking is occuring. I watched a few videos on repairing the seals on the input/output shafts. I think
I could handle that.

when the box is centralized, is there any play in the input shaft? That is where mine is worn.

Default Box

I had no play, it was actually tighter than the one I put in. I'm not sure whee the leak is, simply nailed down the leak to the box and replaced it. I agree the repair looks manageable.
