Hello, I've pulled steering wheels before on other vehicles. I have to pull mine off of my 2004 D2. Anything special i need to do? thank ya,

 

Make sure steering wheel is centered.

Disconnect the battery first to prevent the airbag from accidental popping.

Remove the plastic steering column cover which is held by 3 screws.

Remove the two Torx bolts behind the steering wheel. Be careful not to strip the heads of the Torx bolts.

Be careful when taking off the airbag module (not let it hang on the harness) and the rotary coupler ($300+ for a new one).

RAVE has detailed instructions on the removal procedure.

 

The two torx bolts (T27) are buried pretty deep into the back of the steering wheel. The typical torx socket is not quite long enough to reach. You may need to find a longer torx socket. You can use one of those torx kits that look like a Swiss Army knife with a variety of sizes. Just make absolutely sure you have the right size torx because, as acg said, you don't want to strip the head of the bolt.
