Still looking for dimensions of roof rail extension drill guides
Hi, I have been posting this same requestoccasionally, hoping that someone can help me.
I picked up some roof rail extensions a while back: I have a 2004 but converted from the fat rails to the skinny ones.
Ideally, it would be great if someone had the drill guides for these extensions that I could buy or borrow.
However, lacking that, can someone perhaps at least provide me the dimensions/specs for the guides and maybe I could make my own out of some aluminum stock?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im about to part out a D2 with them. I am going to cut out the roof sections for the buyer, but before that I can make some templates for you.

Converting the "base" rails from fat to skinny is simple and the two types are "pin compatible", however, LR made optional skinny rail extensions that ran all the way to the back of the roof, and make the roof rack more useful.
There are no predrilled holes at the back of the roof, so there is a guide template that allow you to properly position the holes.

Couldn't you just connect the extensions at the front end and then mark where the screw at the rear end contacts the roof? You're drilling from the top.

Fig 4 shows using the drill guide in a hole in the reinforcing structure from the inside to drill a 4mm hole.
Fig 5 tape on the outside to reduce the paint chipping when the drill breaks through.
Fig 6 use the new 4mm hole to pilot the 34mm hole saw.
Fig 7 use touch up paint on the exposed metal to prevent rust.
A 34mm hole should give you plenty to room to dial it straight?
