Also, what is that Risoline oil additive? It looks like a zinc additive but I can't find anywhere that tells you online. I wouldn't use it any more. Rotella already has the right amount of zinc in it. Too much zinc will cause wear just as quickly as not enough.

Inside cover looks good

Looks like there is scoring to me. Can you catch a fingernail on any of those surfaces(not the deliberate cut out but just next to it)

No, it's smooth.
I see what you're talking about, but
the picture is deceptive.
Must be the lighting.

No more ticking!
I was confident the broken oil pump gear was the tick, and so far, no ticking.
I have an unrelated miss, but I did let it run long enough for the thermostat to open and fill the coolant.
It still doesn't run hot either.
Sucess! I hope it continues, lol.

The weird part is that the tick goes away above idle. Obviously not rod knock!

Could it be a valve or valve guide problem??
Oil pump chain slapping a cog??

What the heck makes the noise go away above 1,500 RPMs?

The noise actually still there but more in tune with the rpm with faster intervals.
