Actually I did. I grew up working on cars, and other stuff, with my dad. I knew he knew a heck of a lot more than I did. Same when my uncles were telling me something.
Now, if I was trying something that he or they didn't know anything about I might have screwed the pooch, but that's different.
To this day I screw up sometimes when I'm trying something new and can't find any advice/information on what I'm doing. My wife says I should listen to her more.

Agreed with the rest. Your tubing idea sucks as well. Not trying to be mean. If you try and seal it with heat you are going to discolor it and it will not be clear. There will also be brackets you will have to deal with, and there is no way you will get the tube to seal water tight. I don't see where the ace system would be desirable. What is your intended use of it?

"I am missing the whole point of why you even want an ACE system? A Land Rover is a big tall SUV, not a sports car, so wAre you being serious right now? I cant tell because of how stupid that even sounds. I guess hy would you want to fly around corners in it anyways? Instead of trading your Disco, why dont you just lift it and actually do something cool with it, maybe even something it was designed to do; for example, actually taking it on a trail instead of bragging about it being a trail edition while worrying about getting curb rash at the Mcdonalds. I am not trying to be a dick, but what you are wanting to do makes no sense, in anyway. The ACE system really is not that cool, even if you do find one thats in perfect working order. Definitely not worth trading the truck that you obviously are in love with for some other POS just because of a useless system that will give you nothing but headaches later on. "

You may want to look at what Ace actually does before you start Criticizing the guy .
Ace has far more uses off road, combined with SLS it emiminates the need to raise your truck with buggy springs, it also agains you an extra inch or so of body articulation.

You may want to see what happens with a ace/sls truck when a height sensor goes out on a trail, or lose an airbag, the compressor, crack a air line.

This.
And the cost of repairs from just normal use/wear and tear.
Sure its great on a brand new truck, but on a 10yr old truck its going to require maintenance and repairs that he cant afford.

Few people ever seem to think about what happens when "x" goes wrong. Plus it just adds to the list of spares you should really take with you.
Yeah, maybe it is great off-road because you can raise your suspension to get in to those great places, but once you get there component failure could mean (if you don't have the repair parts with you), at worst, not being about to get back out or, at best, necessitating dragging your rig over a lot of stuff causing even more things to need repair.
Of course if it's just a road vehicle you can call a tow truck.

until then relax, repair, and enjoy what you have.

Thier right that 40k rig that LR enginneered and throw some big coils in in and and you too can have Cherokee or Explorer too.
Love the way everyone without ACE knows all about it.
Guess what if a line breaks your repair it (thats repair kits are for, even LR has one) .If i height sensor goes bad you have to remove 4 screw to throw a spare on, it you compressor dies you use your portable to raise the bags, (you are airing down and carring a compressor of road i hope). And we even have people the know how much money the guy can afford to spend repairing his vehicle.

I'm pretty sure that if you replace an SLS height sensor, you have to re calibrate the system.

I guess you missed the part about DII also coming equipped with coil springs.

Hmmm...sounds an awful lot like even more spares you need to carry, as mentioned above.
I'm fairly certain you'll find many more instances of ACE failures than coil spring failures.
And it's not so much about the money, as trying to dissuade someone who couldn't figure out what kind of socket to use on his caliper bolts from trying to retrofit ACE. I'm pretty sure it's a tad more complicated than 12pt fasteners.
