Default Strange Three Amigo's question

Every day when I start my 2000 D2 SD and drive to work, I have no three amigos's lit.

When I leave to drive home in the late afternoon, start the truck, no three amigo's will be lit until I drive a few feet and they will come on.

Next morning, no three amigo's for the entire drive to the office but every afternoon when I leave the office they come on after driving a few feet and stay on for the ride home.

It has been hot here (mid 90's every afternoon) could this somehow be related to heat?

Any input will be appreciated.

Any thoughts on what I should be looking for to begin troubleshooting this issue?

I had this happen once. (it happened to be a 90 degree day, a very rare occurrence in Seattle) I read the codes (I think it was a 11.4) I cleared it and the code or the lights never came back. But then again it's never been 90 (or even close) since then. Maybe heat is affecting the circuit board in the modulator?? That's just a guess (I would think the underhood temps are higher than that when running), I'm not going to think (or worry) about it unless it comes back.
