Angry Stuck fan

Has any one had trouble in getting the fan off. I have a 2000 Disco II and have been trying to get the fan off forever but it will not budge. I have tried both directions and no luck. If you have any suggestions I would be very happy and thankful. Thank you for any response I get.

i bought a tool from matco that uses your air hammer to knock the fan clutch loose .. i love that tool .. works great on chevy trucks and i even used it on my land rover when i did the engine swap

Put your fan removal tool on the nut, (either a fan clutch tool or a big wrench or a big crecent wrench) and then block the water pump from moving and smack the handle of your wrench with a hammer, quick sharp blows are what you need.
It might take several, but that was how Andy and I removed the fan from my DI.

and soak the thing in penetrating lubricant as well. One guy recently brought his into a shop and just had them loosen it. I think they either did it for nothing, or charged him very little.
