Default Stupid brake question

I'm going to be doing the front brakes on my 2000 Disco soon. I was looking at rotors on rock auto and Bp Utah. Besides the screw that holds the rotor to the wheel hub, are these "standard" rotor and pad jobs? I mean, the rotors look like normal pull of and put back on rotors. Can I do the pads with my handy c clamp and go on my merry way?

Just trying to get a sense of it before I pull the wheels off and sit down to do it.

When I compress the caliper pistons I crack the bleeder screw to prevent fluid from going back to the ABS modulator the opposite direction. I've seen guys not do that and not have problems but I've seen problems develop as well, I just don't take the chance.

OK, at 12:16 AM you posted this, not sure where you are. Here are two pages from the shop manual that cover your question. The shop manual set is called the RAVE, it is a free download. Thousands of pages from the factory about how to service your truck. Same info the dealer tech has.

Allows you to read over the scope of work and decide if you have the tools, etc., for the job. You have instant lookup instead of waiting fo a response, which after midnight may take more than a few minutes.

Thanks Savannah! I was downstairs on my iPhone and the laptop (with the Rave on it) was upstairs in my bedroom...God forbid there be any noises or light while my wife sleeps. :/

Seems simple enough and I was looking in an older thread and found this: Land Rover Brake Rotors, Pads And Parts: Front Brake Rebuilding Kit

Seems simple enough. I just wanted some quick confirmation that it was what I was guessing it'd be. Better that than taking the wheel off and going "wtf?" and scratching my head.

Thanks man!

I have always said that the selection of shade tree location should take into consideration the hearing range of current SWMBO. The RAVE PDF sections are also on line, see links below.

I use a C-Clamp with a small flat peice of metal placed against the piston so that the force is applied evenly across the piston. I was on AtlanticBritish.com yetserday and noticed a nice rotor and pad kit for all 4 wheels for a good price. I paid a LOT more when I did mine.
