Mine is a disco 1 so I'm just guessing. i believe you have the Bosch 4.0 v8. They started that in the disco2s. They are supposed to be a little more reliable. No question is stupid...

I agree no question is a stupid one and in the same breath I would suggest you study up on your trck, especially if you are going off roading. Are there any Rover clubs in your area?
