Stupid Keyfob question: how to remove the key shaft?
The key shaft on the end of the fob; I need to move it from the old fob to a new one.
is there anything special I need to do...or just yank and wiggle the hell out of it?

Yes, just wiggle and pull. My biggest fear when putting key into a new FOB was it coming out in the ignition and not being able to get it out. I glued it into the new FOB hoping it would stay and not need to be replaced in the next decade or so...

Well I can tell you...it wasn’t as simple as pulling it out. On an OEM fob there is a molded plastic pin that holds the blade in the housing. On the AM replacements, yes slide out, slide in...on the OEM I had to put it in a vice and pry it free...snapping the pin in the process.
the blade was from the previous owners Disco; I just needed the fob portion when I programmed it to my Disco earlier today....I was trying to place my blade from one of my existing keys in that fob...no joy.
I saw where someone else had a solid shaft key made and then used only the fob portion of the factory key as a dongle...guess that is what I will do.
