Default Sudden stall

Hello everyone,

Driving home tonight in my 2000 Disco 2 and sudden loss of power at 55 mph and then stalled. Crank no start, pulled home and needed to jump to crank but still no start. Any thoughts?

Crankshaft position sensor.
But also check your battery voltage.

Thanks man!

After it cooled off overnight went out this morning and it started right up. PO 133, P1170, PO 118 came up on OBD II.

I read as well that when the crank sensor overheats it will stall and then starts after cools. I will replace as you suggested. Thanks again and also for the ACE pump!

When I bought the crankshaft position sensor for my truck it was made by Bosch and was in an AutoZone box. That's been reported here many times. Make it easy on yourself; just go to your local AutoZone (or Advance Auto).

Yep 99% of all the ones I've bought at Auto Zone = Bosch in a Duralast box. Just ask to look at the sensor before you buy it. If it doesn't say Bosch try another store.

It might just be my bad luck but I had 2 bad Duralast CPKs from the Auto Zone in Smyrna, GA.
That’s why I always mention to purchase a Bosch brand.

Yep whenever I go to Auto Zone I have em pull the part, then I ask to look at it. If it doesn't say Bosch on it = I walk or ask if they have another one in stock. I tried one of the generic ones and it lasted maybe 2-3 months. Bosch is the way to go no doubt!
