Sunroofs and brains
I made the mistake of trusting my memory, as I’d read many threads on removing head liners and fixing leaks, and just realised weeks later you can subscribe to threads.
‘I’ve numbed my brain searching but can’t find the pretty pictures of replacing drain pans.
but roof lining out, rear sunroof bottom tray is out, I ended up breaking the nozzles going into the pan the hose wouldn’t come off, the sealer around the plastic appears to leak front and rear roofs, I had water everywhere testing for leaks including in the rear mirror lol.
I’ll see how easy it is to leaver out the pans tomorrow, then clean and prep the surface.
‘I’m going to see if I can find replacement rubber pipe and join it with some kind of plumbers fitting, I’ll treat the rust and I’ve got epoxy 400 to glue and seal them in.
a local guy printed in abs 4 drain pans for only 35 bucks, that was a find

The metal pans come out very easy. There are a bunch of black torx screws around the edge and the motors need to come off. Pay attention to what wires are connected where. The grounds are different on the front sun roof vs the rear. Not sure how common but the drains tubes on both sunroofs where glued on so I had to slice them as close to the old plastic drain tube as I could. There is enough slack to reconnect them by rerouting them slightly. The hardest part is trying to remove the old silicone sealant. I used WD40, goo gone and gasoline with a plastic scraper to get it all off. Wiped everything down with alcohol. Test fit the new plastic drains before applying the new sealant to understand how they snap in so you don’t make a mess. Ask me how I know that
