i work for NY state and we had a contract with FedEx last year but they lost it this year to UPS... i'll tell u UPS sucks.. they have like no drop boxes. how do i live 15 miles outside the biggest city in the world and i cant find a UPS box on my route? but there is a fed ex box outside every USPO

Well we carry USPS's freight for them.
So that flat rate box that you paid $5 for to ship something from CA to NY...it goes onto one of our trucks.
But it is a low priority shipment so it will only go on a truck that has room.
You can expect that package to take 7-10 days and it will be on a truck the whole way.
Ship it standard FedEx Ground and it will be there in 3-5 days and it will go onto a plane and some point. (unless it is oversized then it stays on a truck and will take longer)
Ship that same box across the state and it stays on a USPS truck.

So in that respect yes, we are in cahoots with the Post Office.
But in no way are we part of the USPS.
