Ok. Just bought a set of medium duty OME springs with a full set of Bilstein shocks. Next is saving some money for the tires and what size to choose.

Anyone know the options available for keeping the SLS and getting a stiffer set of front springs?

I also have a 2000 D2. Stock springs. I am running 245/75/16 BfGoodridge A/T it is a great all around tire. Good in all condition's. For mud the BFGoodridge M/T is a good tire, also good for all conditions just a little louder. If you go with a mud tire you may want to have them siped.

I've run the BFG A/T tires on some other trucks and they were pretty loud. I want this one to be more a road truck with the tires to go off road if needed. I'll be looking at tires pretty soon.

with a 2" lift you can run a 265/75-16 tire... you will have to do a little trimming on the rear quarter panel just behind the rear tire (where your mudflaps would be) and you may have a little bit of rubbing when you turn your steering wheel to full lock in either direction... but it is a very common tire size that most manufacturers produce tires in... i'm actually goin pick up a set of bfg mud terrains on wednesday in that size for mine...

Switzer. Thanks for the link. How do you like the tires? Are they loud on the road? I never thought about retreads. I just never trusted them for anything.

discoxd. I dont want to cut or rub anything so I will be staying with the 245 you suggested. I am guessing that it is a bigger tire than I have since my 255 doesnt look as big as some of the pictures I've seen with 245's.
I'd like to see some good pics of a standard height truck with the 245 tires.
