Swap seat bottoms side to side
just wondered if anybody had tried this. The wear on the drivers side is always more and i noticed when I took some seats apart that this was possible...actually looked fairly easy. It would even out the wear.
Yes, you can swap them side to side. Not the entire seats, but the seat bottom cushion/leather.
Need to take both seats out of the car to do this.
Careful as you'll likely break the plastic "J-hooks" that hold the upholstery and cushion down and then need a visit to an upholstery shop (this is how the seats get "loose" which you see on tons of trucks for sale)

It is a good idea. Can be done in the truck but much easier with the seats out and since it is only 4 bolts why not. To remove J hooks without breaking them try to roll them off, don't just pry or pull.
I picked up a passenger side seat bottom from a local Pick'nPull & installed on the driver's seat. No need to remove the seat from the vehicle, just be careful with the plastic trim covers that need to come off the seat as they are getting older. Super easy swap with no special tricks or tips needed, get familiar with the process on the junk yard unit and you'll be fine.
