Default tear in leather seats

So I have a very thin tear in my front passenger leather seat and was wondering if anyone has used leather glue to limit further tearing in their seats. Any product recommendations?

IMHO glue won't hold well because of the "always under stress" of the seat upholstery, plus that changes when people sit on it. But I paid $22 each for seats at salvage yard, and D1 seats don't match D2 seat bases, etc. Not a good swap.

see https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ight=seat+swap for write up and pix

The leather on the D2 seats have the same part numbers for the left and right, so the best bet would be to get the cushions out of a salvage yard, and it doesn't really matter which side you grab.

There are at least 4 colors.... two in 99-02 and two in 03-04.

call the dealer and ask them who they use to repair leather. We have a guy that does a great job fixing broken leather all the time. its not that expensive for one hour of his time and it matches perfectly.

they may even come out to your place of business or you can drop it off at the dealer or make an appointment. but do it now before the cold weather cause they charge more in the winter because of the cold.

Do you have to remove the whole seat to pull the seat cushion? Mine is torn and I have the new leather l to sew together. I asked LR Austin for a shop that would fix it and they came back with an estimate of $700 bucks. That aint cheap. I found the material on line for $90. I have done a lot of boat cushions and motor bikes. THis looks easy.
