Default A swing and a miss.....fire.

I haven't re-set codes yet, since the Disco doesn't run any better or worse than it did before. But......I put in Autolite copper plugs (tried to stay simple since mixed reviews on the +4s) and STI 8 mm plug wires. Also did the throttle body cleaning. It still runs just as bad as it did yesterday when I got these codes:

1313, 1314, and 1316

Disco Mike said 1313 and 1314 are dead cats. I haven't replaced the cats yet, but was hoping the new plugs and wires would take care of the 1316 misfire. The dead cats won't cause a misfire will they? What are y'alls thoughts on my next step toward curing the misfire?

im with mike. i think your cats are dead. all 3 suggest it. but its always good to start with plugs and wires when you buy a new rig.

So replacing the cats would solve the miss at idle? Sorry to ask, but I've only had one cat go out and it blew big so had no time to notice if it created a miss in the motor.

start with plugs and wires. you do not know the last time they were replaced. clear the codes and see if they come back.

there isnt much under the hood of the D1's. run your truck at night and see if the coils are throwing spark. i doubt it.

you can also check your exhaust system (when the truck is cold) and see if there are any leaks between or before the o2 sensors. if there is that can cause the o2's to throw incorrect readings to the ECU and cause the truck to run rough.

check out the 60k maintenance in the HOW TO section as well.

I wouldn't touch the cats. cat codes are 0420,0430.

I bet the vehicle itself is throwing other codes that only can be read by a testbook. I have seen many a shop get screwed up because they don't have testbook like the dealer has.
P1313 - Misfire likely to cause damage to catalyst bank A
P1314 - Misfire likely to cause damage to catalyst bank B
it just means its a misfire not a bad cat. obviously real diagnosis needs to be done, not just throwing parts at it.

Hell I own the same year vehicle and I am familar with alot of issues on Gems.
