T-case swap DONE!!!!
My t-case swap is done since 2 or 3 weeks but I worked so much didn't have time tu put any post lately. I think the pictures of my old t-case are worth a look

I'm a little bit disappointed because we don't see that the gears are all worn out. Some chunks were missing on the gears [:-]
Since I'm done with the swap, the Disco has been my daily driver and so far so good, except some minor issues such as a leaking brake line and a leaking exhaust. My tach also started to act up, and I remembered the post linking the tach acting up and alternator failure, so I got my alternator rebuilt. But my tach still doesn't work when the truck is cold. Anyone can chime in on that?
I also had a question for Disco XD because sometimes my Rover starts to shake and I have to slow down to stop it, just like yours did. It does it only on bumpy roads. You said your lift kit took care of that shake, did your lift kit included the steering damper? Because this is my main guess about this issue.
One last thing, sometimes, my Rover is hard to start. It cranks but it seems no gas is coming to the engine, and I have to prime it a second time to start it.
Thanks for any help!

Glad your swap is done and all is well with it.
When they rebuilt your alternator did they replace the voltage regulator?
Replace your fuel filter and see if that helps the hard start when cold issue, if not look into the fuel pump.

Consider using the heavier 85W/140 for your diffs and t/case for a lot more wear protection.
As for the alternator, there is a very small wire on the back of the alternator that make a bad connection and throw your tack into fits.
As for your shake, does this happen after you hit a bump?
Check out your steering stabilized, if it is original, repalce it withj an OME. Have some check all your bushings and tie road ends, and if it hasn't been done, have your swivels cleaned and have the preload reset.
As already mentioned get a new fuel filter and hope that is all.

Yes it starts to shake after I hit a bump... well when I hit many bumps in a short distance. My first tought is the steering stabilizer along with a bad tie rod end. With the low mileage on my truck I definitely think this is the original. I cleaned and greased my swivel a couple of month ago so these should be fine.
I planned replacing my fuel filter, my 60k maintenance isn't completely done.
For what I know, they didn't replace the voltage regulator, because they tested it and it was working fine. They simply replaced the bearings because it froze up and destroyed my belt.
Thanks for the quick answers!

Well testing a voltage regulator that is bad when cold in a warm shop is a oxymoron.
Like Mike said double check the wires on the back of the alternator.
If they are loose when they wiggle they will cause problems.
The tach runs off the voltage regulator if I am not mistaken.
