Default Temp Spike

Hey guys,

I have a 96 disco with about 150,000 miles on it. Today I noticed when I sitting at a redlight for a prolonged amount of time with the a/c on that the temp level spiked some. When I driving it fell back to the normal level. Is this anything that is indicative of something else?

Did you check your coolant level? Might not have anything to do with it but worth checking real quick.

Bad a/c fans.

Go turn to ignition to the "ON" position and make sure the a/c is on, do you hear the fans in front of the radiator?

Could also be your fan clutch. In warm weather you should notice the sound change from under the hood as the fan works harder. After you take off from stand still you should notice the sound reduce to a more normal engine noise.
