I don't really have much of a preference either way, though I will say I think that the Diesel engines Dodge uses are less complicated because they six cylinders instead of 8, so if I needed a dedicated tow rig, I'd think about getting that. Of course I cannot afford a dedicated tow rig... so I'm looking for an LR3 that I can use as a daily driver, and will still be able to tow my WAY too slow defender to the rover rallies that are too far away to drive it to.

So I'm thinking 2 or 3 in TF lift. With 3 in do you think I'll have any vibe problems? Also do I need to worry about castor? Also what size tire can I run on both without rubbing issues? I like meaty tires. I don't wheel like I used to. too expensive when I brake crap. I will do some fire roads here in eastern WV as well as my hunting trips. Mostly street use. So will a 31 or 32 in tire look good on the 2 or 3in lift?

I've got what lucky 8 sells as the 3" prosport terrafirma lift. I don't have any vibrations, but the caster is affected, so the steering feels a little lighter and requires more corrections at highway speeds. It's drives just fine though. If I were planning on keeping the D2, I'd eventually get the QT or TF or RTE caster corrected radius arms. I have 255/85R16 tires, which are about 33" and I have no rubbing, but I also have an aftermarket front bumper. The tires are VERY close to the plastic sill panel trim, so I can imagine that on some discos they might rub, but I guess I'm lucky.

I went with OME777/OME781 springs and TF+2 shocks just to make sure I could please everybody on the forum I may be adding a bit more weight in steel front bumper with full brush bar and winch, so may have to go a bit more heavy duty with my springs here soon.

Yes, with 3"s of lift you will have a castor issue which can be corrected with adjusted radius arms and a T.T. diff that will always pull you to center although you will stay have a pinion shaft oiling issue. That tall of a lift also means, if you want an equal turning radius in both directions, that you must install an adjustable pan hard rod to pull your diff housing back to center.
If you go to RTE's web site and read up on their tall lift suggestions/requirements, you will find a list of other modification they suggest in order for you to take full benefit of the new suspension. Probably one of the most inportant mods are to the watts linkage and retainer and cones.
That being said, you will need new stainless steel extended brake lines and will have to rerout the ABS lines.
I did not have a vibration with my 3" lift, seems to vary with the vehicles.
If you garage your Disco, you may find it will not fit in any more as well as issues with under ground clearance.
Let us know what you do.

I have the 3" TF lift with TF extended shocks and +4 brake lines on my 00 Disco II. I have no vibration issues. It tracks straight. The only thing that I have noticed is that the steering doesn't want to return to center by itself as easily as before, despite the fact that there is no more effort required for steering.

BTW mine is for street use only. I just needed new springs and tires (my rover sat unused for years), so I got the TF instead of original or OME in order to save money and went with the lift to fit taller tires. Sadly, the TF kit has medium duty springs, so until I get steel bumpers my ride is a little rougher than I want. If I was doing much offroad I would probably get the OME.
