TerraFirma or OME?
I want to put a lift on my truck, but want to make sure that it is the right one. My truck is my daily driver, and I want something that is not going to be an issue on highway trips, but still give me a little more clearance on trails.
If I dont have a heavy rack or bumper, just an OEM brush guard and 4 thule bars up top:
1.Terra Firma or OME?
2. Some of the other threads say that unless you have a lot more weight on the truck, the Heavy Duty Springs will make you hate road driving, but the Terrafirma website says that you won't get 2" on the disco II because of the weight with the medium duty?
As a side, what is with all the Lucky8 "how to" videos on youtube featuring really hot chicks??? The CDL install is more distracting than informational...

I have the terrafirma medium 2 inch lift. I really like it and silver color compliments the oslo blue pretty well. I got 2-3 inches in lift from the old stock, it used to look like a big golf cart.
TerraFirma is new, less proven and lots cheaper, be that good or bad.
OME is well proven, over 20 years worth and their medium lift along with their H.D. shocks are a great way to go as is their steering stabilizer.

1. Coke or Pepsi? --- At this point it seems to be mostly opinion based. OME is tried and true, while TF is more affordable, yet "less proven" on this side of the pond. I put the 2" Medium Duty OME on our Disco (Wife drives it daily) and I am VERY HAPPY with it, she loves it. I don't really think you can go wrong.
2. As far as extra weight goes, I've got a rack and sliders, and the ride is firm, but solid on road, GREAT off-road. I plan on adding a winch and eventually a roof top tent, but I think the MD springs will handle that just fine.
I got just under 2" with my OME, here's my before/after with 255/55's.

i would go medium terrafirma +2" shock and spring kit and the TF steering stabilizer from Justin over at Lucky 8. I have the HD kit and if i didnt have the extra weight from steel it would be too rough of a ride for a daily driver.
TF has 3 levels of shocks, get the "sport" shocks. It will be a good compromise. If you will do any heavy loading, TF has a Heavy Duty (big shaft) shocks also.
OME is just one of those companies that are known to do it all. Our last Disco, I had the entire Med. OME set up and was completely satisfied. Street handling and mild off road/trail was excellent, far better than stock.
Since I will be towing dirt bikes and putting heavy load this time around, I will be getting the HD (Britpart) set up from MM-4x4, which will also include radius arims, trailing arms, and bushings. Eventually, I will upgrade to the rebuild-able Fox shocks in the future.
