18 months since fitting. NY State location. Not a particularly heavy two winters worth of salt on the roads.

I can believe the springs, but the shocks? They just sit there and have to not let the paint go rusty.

Am I expecting too much from spending $500?

If I had known I'd have plasti dipped the springs. That should deform with the spring moving just fine.

Grr.

The paint on the springs has chipped off in a spiral fashion, because of the stress of compressing. So it just wasn't up the job, i.e. Not flexible enough paint.

I'm not blaming the salt for that.

So I guess, I couldn't have plasti dipped them, the factory paint would have still chipped and brought it all off.

Double grr.

I replaced my standards with TF and Swedish made springs but no signs of rust .............. yet.

The original OEM shocks looked like new when I removed them after 12 years and wiped them clean, not a speck of rust on them

1974 Triumph T-100R Daytona .................. nice bike eh

I had a new 1960 pre-unit Bonneville, my first 'big bike' back then. Light and dark blue tank paint scheme.

I had a set, TF, on a truck here in so cal, no salt on roads and never went in snow. They looked like that after 2 years.

Have a set of OME and the finish is still good after a year and a half.
