Default Thanks Everyone!

Hello everyone, from the Bluegrass State!

I don't have a particular problem to report, but rather I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here on the forums.

I bought a 2003 Disco last October, without maintenance records, and because of this forum, I'm happy to say that I believe I have repaired every major Achilles' heel of this fine beast of a truck.

Thanks to the wisdom, and the tenacity, of this forum's members, I am quite sure that my Disco will be running for a long time. Had it not been for this forum, I'm sure I would have junked the truck by now.

Everyone here is full of wisdom, advice and most of all, patience. For that, I am eternally grateful.

Thanks to you guys, here's what I've been able to fix:

Cooling system; prop shaft (mine disintegrated at the machine shop -- just replaced it); cruise control; changed the tranny and differential fluids; getting ready to switch to Rotella oil. Finding the RAVE manual is a blessing on this truck.

I've never been happier with a vehicle, even one this one that requires regular TLC.

Thanks again everyone, and happy Friday!

Welcome!

re: Bluegrass state

Isn't that that the state of beautiful horses and fast women or sumthin like that?

As for future problems you should address that front drive shaft to update to fully greased, or it can snap. And don't belive that naughty heat gauge, she is a known liar, stays at 50% from about 130 - 240F.

Savannah,

yep, the bluegrass state is known for its horses and this little thing on the first Saturday of May, known as The Kentucky Derby. Now as for fast women, I have no idea. My wife is faster than I am on most things. And, she loves my Disco more than her LR3!

I hate the temp guage. Outside of an Ultra Guage, is there anything that will accurately display internal temperatures in the engine?

i have seen some people on here install some of the "glow, something or another) gauges and they make a nice install.

Other varieties of scanners, like ScanGauge - Trip Computer + Digitial Gauges + ScanTools ; and aftermarket mechanical gauges with sensor mounted into the pipe that leaves the engine block.

As for the LR3, here is your maintenance list, the rest of the shop manual is also a free download.
