thermostat/ temp guage ?

Coolant, TEE, et al
Hey, Thanks, alot Savannah,I appreciate the info. I got tired of mucking around w/ the stock bleeder and installed one in the TEE. Works perfect, though it does blow a bit of coolant around while purging...
I finally got the %^$$%%&*$ thing to quit going into the red...it still shows the upper end of the window, however. So, in one of those moments, while flushing, draining, bleeding, etc, I pull the hose headed for the intake off the TEE and stick my thermometer down its throat( the metal tube)...low and behold, it's reading...190,,,while the guage is showing the top of the window...Being as that flow comes outta the heads, that's about as hot as one might expect it to be.
I wnat better verification before I'm drivin' anywhere...
I like the upper hose idea, but like you say there's some cooling going on there...I'm thinkin' I'm taping another hole in the intake for another sender.
I have to look closer for clearance issues...If I like it, I'll take pix.
Thanks again.

Might be you engine coolant sensor needs to be swapped out, it tells the ECU how warm, and the ECU reports that number to OBDII port, and sends a signal to gauge to point at 9:00 if temp is between X and Y. Rather than poke another hole, how about a T from the small hose that goes from top of intake to throttle body heater plate?
